This week I'm rebuilding the Dana 60 with 3.54:1 gears. If the weather is not too bad, and I'm not working weekends I should have it done in a few weeks. I am going to weld collector flanges to the muffler outlet and tailpipe for two reasons, the pipes need to be pretty short for the longer muffler, and it will make removing the exhaust easier for transmission service. The Imperial sized mufflers are longer than the Super Turbo mufflers, and for them to sit up in the recessed floor pan area, the rear hanger will need to be moved back some and the in and out pipe will be shortened. I am going to use them to replace the Super Turbo mufflers that came with the TTI exhaust system, but it is not going to be as easy as I thought. I bought some Walker Quiet Flow SS mufflers for the Convertible. Thanks.ġ971 Imperial mufflers used to be highly touted for your purposes. So guys, any recommended setups? I'm all ears. I don't want to be heard coming from a mile away anymore, and I don't want every teen in a mustang trying to race at every redlight just because of the exhaust anymore. I want it to be as quiet and as comfortable to cruise in as a new Charger or Ram pickup. I measured 92 decibels inside the cabin at a 60 mph cruise last week.
